JOB DESCRIPTION – Human Resources Officer
Reports to: HR Business Partner

JOB OVERVIEW:
To provide comprehensive support in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems including but not limited to Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation and benefits administration, Maintenance of personnel files, staff motivation initiatives, and disciplinary procedures.
KEY DUTIES:
- Maintenance of accurate and up to date personnel records of all employees including orderly archiving Administration and updating HR systems.
- Maintaining records related to grievances, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Supporting talent acquisition and management in liaison with section heads for a concerted effort.
- Supporting the performance management process including coordinating periodic performance appraisals.
- Participating in staff motivation and welfare activities such as award ceremonies, sports events, end of year events.
- Supporting the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
- Providing counselling on policies and procedures.
- Helping employees understand and comply by the company policies.
- Ensuring daily staff attendance, shift schedules and all leave taken is updated and tracked in the system.
- Maintain employee records (attendance, EEO data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.
- Review employment and working conditions to ensure legal compliance.
- Ensuring staff overtime data is compiled and submitted for Payroll processing by the monthly cut of
- Ensuring all employees adhere and comply with PPE (Personnel Protective Equipment) requirements.
- Liaising with the Learning and Development manager to conduct Trainings
- Receiving leave applications and making a follow up.
- Responding to Employee queries and concerns.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of resources, templates and tools to ensure consistency.
- Tracking Contractual and Probationary periods of Employees and following up before expiry.
- Crosschecking Casuals attendance records and compiling attendance data for and processing payment.
- Advising and helping managers on human resource related issues.
- Attending to minor disciplinary issues, helping in enforcing discipline among employees and generating incident and accident reports to be submitted to Human Resources
- Participating in and documenting proceedings during disciplinary inquiries.
- Preparing weekly reports to be submitted to the Human Resources Manag
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in human resource management; Psychology; and other related discipline.
- Knowledge of existing labour laws, regulations and operating guidelines.
- Two year’s working experience in a similar role in a large company.
- Must be adept at problem-solving, including being able to identify issues and resolve programs in a timely manner.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees.
- Must be able to effectively read and interpret information, present numerical data in a resourceful manner, and skillfully gather and analyze information.
- Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities as to use time efficiently.
- Must be organized, accurate, thorough, and able to monitor work for quality.
- Should possess good counseling skills.
